Olympic gold medallist boxer Katie Taylor is to meet the Sports Council next week to discuss her future.
The 26-year-old said last night she was "not too sure, to be honest" about whether she would turn professional.
She had not thought much about it during her 12-day holiday in Alicante.
Whether she turned professional or not, "the next few years are going to be very important to me".
Katie also said she would be taking her dad's advice on board when she appeared on last night's Late Late Show with the five other members of the Irish boxing team.
Her mother, Bridget, said that she had reservations about her daughter taking up boxing, but when Katie showed such great talent at a very early age she decided just to support her.
Dad Peter has already said he hoped Katie would retire from boxing, but his daughter has no intention of hanging up her gloves.
"Obviously we'd love to carry on boxing amateur," Mr Taylor said. "It's not about money. It's about challenges."
