INSURANCE company Laya Healthcare, the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, Electric Ireland and the National Learning Network were among 40 private and public organisations to receive an award from the Small Business Minister, John Perry (right).

The awards were for environmental management, quality management, food safety and excellence through people.

Maurice Buckley of National Standards Authority of Ireland said commitment to standards can contribute to the wider economy.

"We are seeing a growing trend of European and international customers who expect such certified standards as entry level for doing business with them," he said.
