Now Kitchen Hero Donal is pet rescue hero after saving stray dog on beach

KITCHEN Hero Donal Skehan is adding pet rescue to his long list of credentials.

The Howth native has been appealing for the owner of a lost dog to come forward, after he found the stray on a beach.

The 25-year-old -- who burst on to the scene with his RTE cooking show -- took to his social networking pages last night to post pictures of the cute canine.

Donal took photos of the golden labrador and broadcast them on his Twitter and Facebook pages.

In the meantime, the stray is no doubt being extremely well fed by Donal.

The celebrity chef, who lives with his Swedish girlfriend of five years, Sofie Larson, wrote that the lab looked "conked" and was fast asleep after "a rough day".

Before becoming Ireland's answer to Jamie Oliver, the young Dubliner started out talking all-things tasty on his thegoodmoodfoodblog.com in 2007.

Now following in the footsteps of renowned cook Rachel Allen, handsome Donal has seen his star skyrocket overseas.

Last month, the chatty chef signed his third book deal with a top publisher, and as well as gearing up for the launch of his own series on British TV later this year, is continuing to enjoy a regular slot on Eamonn Holmes' This Morning.

"It's been an absolute blessing, I'm so excited at the moment, I'm unbelieveably proud how far everything has come, all the hard work is paying off," Donal said.
