RTE has revealed Nicky Byrne's game show has been axed.
Million Euro Challenge, which was hosted by the former Westlife star (inset), has been cut by the national broadcaster as it revealed popular series Winning Streak will continue into the autumn in its place.
Byrne's show, which first aired back in January, was criticised for its complicated format and has seen viewing figures drop as low as 165,000. Winning Streak regularly attracted double that number in the same Saturday night slot.
Meanwhile, TV3 has also announced a change to its schedule, which will see former rugby panellist Tom McGurk front a current affairs show.
The broadcaster will present new show The Late Review from next Monday night, which will replace Tonight with Vincent Browne as it breaks for the summer.
The show will run from 11pm to 12am from Monday to Thursday.
McGurk will present The Late Review for its first week, with TV3 news anchor Collette Fitzpatrick and journalist Ger Colleran stepping in, in following weeks.
