Niall killer to be sentenced

A MAN accused of murdering teenager Niall Dorr in Dundalk just over two years ago is to be sentenced on December 17.

Douglas Ward (36), with an address at Loughantarve, Knockbridge, County Louth, has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of the 18-year-old, but not guilty to murder.

His plea has been accepted at the Central Criminal Court by lawyers representing the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Dorr died after he was attacked while walking home with friends at Castle Road, Dundalk on October 14, 2010.

Douglas Ward has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced.
