THE IE Domain Registry (IEDR) has reported that registrations for Ireland's top level domain reached their highest ever total in a three-month period.

IEDR, the managed registry for Ireland's official internet address .ie, said the registrations were made in the third quarter ending in September.

Some 10,029 .ie domains were registered during this period, a 12.7pc increase on the same period in 2010.

The renewal rate increased to 87pc.
