MOTHER of two Sinti Brennan (inset) doesn't think that the introduction of plain cigarette packaging will have that much of an impact.
The Carlow woman smoked 20 cigarettes a day before her two children, Adam and Amy, inspired her to quit.
The 40-year-old has not smoked in almost three months, and has used electronic cigarettes to ease her withdrawal symptoms.
"I was smoking 20 a day, and now I'm off them 11 weeks. I would say I was smoking when I was 15 years old," she told the Herald.
"To be honest, I quit because of the money. It was costing me the best part of €70 per week. I actually don't know where I found the money to smoke.
Ms Brennan said that she has also seen her health improve since quitting, and said she is delighted that she has given up cigarettes.
