Mum filmed stealing €280 of alcohol in Superquinn

A MOTHER-of two admitted stealing alcohol from a supermarket when she was shown CCTV footage.

Christine White (36), of no fixed address, admitted stealing €280 worth of alcohol from Superquinn, Walkinstown, on September 20, 2013.

She also admitted taking €54 worth of meat products from Tesco Express, Kimmage Road, and groceries worth €133 at Supervalu, Sundrive Road.

Solicitor Edward Flynn said she was identified on CCTV some weeks after the alcohol theft and when shown the footage, said: "Yes, that is me."

White had a drug problem and relapsed because of a "crisis in the family".

Most of the offences were committed to get money to buy methadone.

Judge Walsh adjourned the case for a probation report.
