A male motorcyclist has been killed in a single vehicle crash on the M50.

The crash happened on the M50 Northbound, close to the "on” ramp at Junction 6 (Blanchardstown/ Castleknock), at 9.30pm last night.

The man was aged his mid-thirties and was killed when his motorcycle collided with a crash barrier. No other person was involved.

The road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01-666 7000 The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
