Motorcyclist killed in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in a road crash in Meath.

The man, who is in his early 50s, died after his motorcycle collided with a car on the Millbrook Road in Oldcastle at 5.10pm yesterday.

The victim, who is from Eastern Europe, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

A female driver of the car was uninjured.

The victim's body was brought to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan where a post mortem examination will be carried out today.

BOMB QUIZ MAN BURIED

A MAN who died while being questioned in the US about links with a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing has been buried in his native Chechnya nearly a month after his death.

Ibragim Todashev (27) was fatally shot in Florida on May 22 while being questioned by an FBI agent and two troopers.

His body was taken to Grozny, capital of the volatile Chechnya region of Russia, and buried in a Muslim cemetery.

COOGAN WRITES AUTOBIOGRAPHY

ACTOR Steve Coogan, who has been an ardent privacy campaigner and a leading light in calls for press reform, has struck a deal to publish his autobiography.

The star, known for his bumbling TV creation Alan Partridge as well as his Hollywood roles, will publish the book next year.

The 47-year-old has previously had literary success with his bestselling spoof book about his alter-ego I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan.

Coogan will have his memoir published in September 2014 in hardback.

HOLLY BEGS FOR SUMMER BREAK

TV STAR Holly Willoughby has revealed that she cannot wait to take a break from the screen – and is desperate to do nothing this summer.

The 32-year-old presenter and mum-of-two has been hosting three shows – The Voice, This Morning and Surprise Surprise.

But as she signed copies of her new book School For Stars: First Term At L'Etoile in London, she said: "I've got six weeks off and I'm going to sit on my fat backside and do nothing with the kids."
