Model Cara - I got my movie role on merit

Supermodel Cara Delevingne has rejected suggestions she won her latest film role because of her social media stardom as she swapped the runway for the red carpet at the movie's premiere.

The star was met by deafening screams from crowds of teenage girls as she arrived for the New York premiere of Paper Towns, a big screen adaptation of the book of the same name.

Delevingne (22) has more than 15 million followers on Instagram and frequently posts photos and videos of herself with famous friends, including singers Taylor Swift and Rihanna, as well as models Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid.

fluke

Dressed in a slashed, gold sequinned Yves Saint Laurent dress, Delevingne said: "I work really hard and I don't want anyone to ever think that this is a fluke or I got this because of my social media presence.

"For me, if I got this part or I'm acting because of what I have on social media, I don't want to do it."

Delevingne, revealed she became very emotional when she learned she won the part in Paper Towns, which was written by the same author as hit book and film The Fault In Our Stars.
