IRISH ultimate fighter Cathal Pendred remains unbeaten after a tough bout in Stockholm.
The boyfriend of model and nightclub hostess Michelle McGrath scraped past Gasan Umalatov in the Swedish capital to secure his second UFC win on the trot.
She flew to the Scandinavian country to see her man in action but it wasn't as easy as he had hoped.
The Irishman did come out at the start of the contest looking for a quick take down but his opponent was plucky and looked the more dangerous at times.
"It wasn't the fight I really wanted to be honest," Pendred said. "I felt like he was more of a counter guy and that I had to push the pace the whole time. I just tried to push as much as I could without going into his game. I think I did the best I could."
As news of the victory broke, congratualtions poured in over social media with fellow Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor saying he was "proud" of Pendred's achievement.
"You have to kill him to stop him.
"He is a true fighting Irish warrior," McGregor said.
"So proud of [Cathal Pendred] going 2-0 in the UFC last night. He is the definition of a tough man," Irish rugby star Cian Healy said.
Meanwhile, Irish WWE wrestler, Dubliner Sheamus O'Shaunessy said "what a win" and Tweeted "#IrishTakeover".
Pendred was hailed as a hero earlier this year for rescuing a beached baby dolphin in Co Clare.
He had been walking on the beach at Doonbeg with Michelle (left) when he spotted the Dolphin, lifted the animal back into the water and it swam off to safety,
"It was a very proud moment," said Michelle at the time.
