A Mexican student has been kicked unconscious in a vicious attack in a seaside town.
Gardai are investigating the assault on three language students by a gang of youths.
The friends were coming home from a night out in Bray, Co Wicklow when they were kicked and punched.
One of the teenagers was knocked unconscious while his friends suffered facial injuries.
The victims, who are all 19 and from Mexico, have been left "extremely upset and shaken" as a result of their ordeal.
They have been living with local families in Bray while attending a language school.
A spokeswoman for the school said that the incident has "deeply saddened" the town.
"These students came over here to have a new experience. They just could not believe what happened to them," she said.
"People are so angry at what has happened. Language schools are the biggest industry in Bray, yet unprovoked attacks by thugs are destroying it."
The attack happened on the Boghall Road at 3.30am last Sunday week.
It was one of two incidents involving language students in the space of a few days.
In another incident, three students were surrounded a group of youths as they walked through the Wolfe Tone housing estate at about 9pm. An iPhone was stolen.
