Met praises Garda help as brutal rapist jailed

POLICE in London have thanked the gardai and PSNI for helping to catch a "very dangerous" double rapist who fled to Ireland.

Dawid Wysocki , also known as Andrzej Wysocki or Arthur Bryewicz (30), from London, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court to eight and a half yearsfor each offence of rape and 99 days for absconding.

He had pleaded guilty at a hearing to two counts of rape relating to incidents in September 1996. He was arrested in Northern Ireland in November 2009 following a "pro-active" operation with the PSNI.

Detective Inspector Dan Brown of the London Met said: "Thanks to well co-ordinated joint police work between the Metropolitan Police Service, Garda and the PSNI, this dangerous man was apprehended."
