THIS is Eoin Harrington who has amazed listeners of RTE's Liveline with his encyclopedic knowledge of soccer over the past two weeks.
The 11-year-old actually managed to defeat RTE's own memory man Jimmy Magee in a World Cup quiz.
And a special football cake was on hand to mark the occasion when Eoin met his idol Jimmy at the RTE studios.
He was in the studio live with host Joe Duffy as a treat for his eleventh birthday.
Jimmy came in especially to meet Eoin as a surprise while the young man was on air.
"He seems to know everything. He is amazing," said Jimmy.
"If you can learn the World Cup, you can learn anything," he added. And an impressed Jimmy told Eoin: "When I was the same age as you are now, I wrote to Radio Eireann looking for an audition. I wrote to Radio Eireann at 11. Now is the time to start," he said.
Eoin, who is from Drumcondra in Dublin, has been a regular contributor on Joe Duffy's Liveline radio programme since the competition began.
Some of the questions Eoin answered correctly were:
West Germany beat Hungary 3-2 in what is remembered as the Miracle of Berne.
Hristo Stoichkov and Oleg Salenko.
