Mayo will beat Daithi's Kerry, says Rose Maria

NEWLY-crowned Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh won't be calling 'Philadelphia here I come' just yet, as she plans to extend her trip to watch Mayo play Kerry in the All-Ireland football semi final on Sunday.

The 2014 Rose of Tralee is in the process of extending her trip so she can wipe the smirk off host Daithi O Se's face when his side are beaten by Mayo in Croke Park.

The 27-year-old said: "If Daithi (below) had shouted 'Up Mayo' for Sam I probably might not have [extended her trip], but now I want to see his face when Mayo beat them," she said.

Rivalry aside, O Se had huge praise for the winner.

"Her wonderful and unique personality really shone through during the week," he said.

A massive 760,300 watched Maria being named the 56th Rose of Tralee on Tuesday night.
