THE heartbroken mother of Tallaght man Paul Byrne will mark the first anniversary of his disappearance today with a Mass.
Paul (20) vanished after getting into a wine-coloured Mitsubishi Charisma car outside his Kilmartin Green home on Wednesday, July 15 last year. He has not been seen since and is presumed to have been murdered despite the fact that he has no criminal record and was not known to be in any trouble. Despite intensive searches by his family and gardai no trace of Paul has been found.
"It's so hard to believe that it has been a year since Paul went missing, and it's still very difficult to wake up each day not knowing where he is," Paul's mother Ashley Dempsey told the Herald.
"We will have a Mass in St Anne's Church in Fettercairn at 7pm today to mark the fact that Paul has been gone a year.
, and anyone is welcome to attend," Ashley explained.
