Martine's joy as she reveals baby news
after her seven-year battle with fatigue

Actress Martine McCutcheon has revealed she is to be a mum, after thinking she may never have children after health problems.

The 38-year-old star is three and a half months pregnant and told Hello! magazine: "This pregnancy has brought us a joy we never knew existed."

It will be her first child with her husband of almost two years, singer-songwriter Jack McManus.

Former EastEnders star McCutcheon told last year how she had fought a secret seven-year battle with the chronic fatigue syndrome ME, which led to severe depression.

"We'd always said that if we were fortunate to be blessed with a child, that would be wonderful, but we were very aware that it's not a given," she said

"As a woman in her late 30s who's experienced health problems, I thought I might have to accept that it wasn't a path my life was going to take, but it would have been a great sadness in our lives if that had been the case."

Her child is due on Valentine's Day next year and has given her back some joy after last year being declared bankrupt, as a result of her illness leaving her unable to work.

"It was a terrible time in our lives,'' she said. "But you discover who your friends are and we found amazing support from people who really came through for us.

"It's like finally the tides have turned. Great things are starting to happen on the work front, but more than anything, expecting our baby boy has given us clarity about what matters."

Meanwhile, Got To Dance judge and former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt has announced she is to have her first child.

Wyatt (32) discovered she was pregnant while on honeymoon in New York with husband Max Rogers, who is the same age, in April. Their baby, a girl, is due in December.

Revealing her pregnancy, she said: "I love the life Max and I have built here. England is home for me now.

"And there is nothing cuter than having a baby growing up with a British accent," added Wyatt, who is back on screens in the new series of Sky1's Got To Dance.

One of the first people to guess she was expecting was best friend and former bandmate Ashley Roberts.

"Ashley knew straight away. We are like sisters. Ashley knows everything about me, so she only looked at me and guessed right away, " said Wyatt.

"When I told her, it was so emotional - she was thrilled for us, which was lovely."

She said she had managed to keep her bump largely under wraps, and even did a naked photoshoot for a fitness campaign, without arousing too much suspicion, but added: "I feel like in the last day or two I have literally gone 'pop'."

Male model Rogers also told of his delight: "We went for the second scan, at 20 weeks and they said, 'You're going to have a daughter'.

"And then when I felt her kick, it really connected with me - I'm delighted."
