Marker Hotel puts on five-star spread for Temple Street kids

Showers didn't stop the fun for the kids at Temple Street Children's University Hospital when the Marker Hotel offered to lay on a five-star spread.
The feast was originally scheduled to be held in the garden at Hugh's House, an outdoor sanctuary for children and parents attending the hospital which officially opened last month.
The garden was established in memory of baby Hugh Curley, who sadly passed away in 2013 aged just eight months.
Hugh's mum Ade Stack told the Herald that the Marker Hotel had offered to host the first afternoon tea in the garden.
However, rain and showers saw the spread prepared by the staff moved indoors.
The kids enjoyed the foods and juices while a special visit by Minnie and Mickey Mouse also brought smiles to their faces.
Among those enjoying the afternoon tea treat was Isabella Villena (4) from Palmerstown. Her mum Samantha (38) said Isabella has been attending the hospital since she was four days old.
"She has a rare neurological disorder," she explained.
Isabella is an out-patient at the Dublin hospital.
Lovely
"The garden is lovely. It's really brilliant for families. When you are here for a while and you have nowhere to go, it is nice to know now that there is somewhere nearby that is suitable for kids, and it doesn't feel like it's in the middle of the city," said Samantha, who also has a son Alex (7).
The garden is located on the corner of Mountjoy Square and Belvedere Place.
Meanwhile, Kildare patient Cian Delmer-Higgins (7), who has been a patient of the hospital for five weeks, said it was a "good" party.
