2013 closed with more positive signs from the Irish manufacturing sector, research shows, with new orders increasing for the sixth month in a row.

Eurozone manufacturing also recorded its strongest growth in over 30 months, while the rates of expansion in the UK reflected recent signs suggesting a recovery is taking hold. The latest Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) examining the Irish sector showed the rate of expansion was quicker last month than in November.
