Man who sold drugs to garda is sent to jail

A MAN has been jailed for six months for selling heroin to an undercover garda in Dublin city centre.

Adam Marlowe (20) was sentenced by Judge Michael Coghlan at Dublin District Court.

Marlowe, of Walkinstown Drive, Walkinstown, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to sell or supply.

The court heard gardai were on plain-clothes duty on Aston Quay at 1pm last February 20 when the accused sold €20 worth of heroin to an officer. He was arrested at the scene.

Marlowe had a large number of previous convictions for offences including sale or supply of drugs.

Defence solicitor John Feaheny said the accused was already serving a sentence and asked Judge Coghlan to be as lenient as possible.
