Man recovering in blaze rescue

a man is recovering today after being rescued from a burning apartment in the early hours of this morning.

The blaze broke out on Montague Street in Dublin 1 at around 2.30am.

The apartment twas on the top floor of the three storey building which is split into five units.

Fire crews and gardai evacuated the building. Eight units of Dublin Fire Brigade including two ambulances were brought to the scene.

It is understood the man who was rescued from the fire was being treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Fry's Danger Mouse TV role

Stephen Fry has been signed up for the return of much-loved cartoon character Danger Mouse - playing the voice of pompous veteran spy Colonel K.

The actor will play the secret service boss when the show makes its comeback next year after an absence of more than 20 years.

Alexander Armstrong, who is lined up to play the title character, will be reunited with his co-star on BBC1 quiz Pointless as Richard Osman has a guest role as Professor Strontium Jellyfishowitz.

Breast cancer vaccine hope

An experimental breast cancer vaccine has been shown to slow progression of the disease in humans.

Of 14 women with breast cancer who received the vaccine, half showed no sign of tumour growth one year after treatment.

The vaccine had an effect even in those with immune systems weakened by the disease and chemotherapy.

Scientists now plan to follow the small pilot trial with a larger study.

Take That hint at full reunion

They went from a five-piece to a four-piece, and lost another member this year, but Take That still hope to reunite.

Jason Orange dropped out of the band in September, while Robbie Williams was the first to leave the group in 1995.

Now the three-piece, the band hinted at plans for a 25th anniversary tour in three years.

Lead singer Gary Barlow said: "Take That is five people. Exactly when they come back is up to them."
