A man was seriously injured after he was allegedly pushed under a bus on Dublin's quays.

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm yesterday on Aston Quay in Dublin.

The victim, in his 30s, was taken to St James's Hospital with serious injuries.

A garda spokesman told the Herald the incident is "not being investigated as a road traffic collision".

He said no arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.

Witness Alex Mills (23) claimed two men had been having an altercation before the incident occurred.

He said he heard a "thump" and saw a guy on the ground. The bus driver ordered everyone off the bus, Mr Mills said.

"The guy on the ground came around a bit and he started shouting after the guy," he said.

"He was also saying that his arm had been run over, but his face was kind of busted up as well.

"When the paramedics arrived, they took off his shirt, and his shoulders down were just caked in blood," he said.
