A MAN with 89 previous convictions who held up a supermarket has been sentenced to three and a half years.
Sammy Hutch (35) went into a Tesco Express and asked for tobacco. When the cashier turned around to get the product, Hutch pointed what looked like a handgun at him.
He took €427 from the till before fleeing.
Hutch, of Cardiffsbridge Avenue, Finglas, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to robbery of the store on Clontarf Road on April 18, 2012. Judge Martin Nolan imposed a three and a half year term to commence immediately and run concurrently with a three and half year sentence he is already serving.
