Man held as gun seized in shootings probe

A MAN has been arrested and a gun seized by gardai investigating two shootings in the Tallaght area.

Officers were last night questioning the man, who they suspect is involved in a feud.

The 20-year-old was taken into custody after two separate gun attacks in Tallaght within five days.

The first shooting happened on Wednesday of last week when shots were fired at a car in the Rossfield Crescent area at around 6pm.

A woman reported that her car had been hit in the attack, and that a youth was seen running away.

Last Monday, in a separate attack on a house in nearby Rossfield Drive, two windows were shot out.

Gardai believe that the two incidents were related, or were carried out by the same group of people.

A garda spokesman said the arrest is part of the ongoing investigation into the Rossfield shootings.

The arrested man can be held for up to 72 hours and was being questioned at Tallaght Garda Station.

Meanwhile, a man has been charged after a single-barrel shotgun and a quantity of cannabis herb was found in the search of a house in Crumlin.

Dylan Norton (22) of St James's Road was charged with firearms and drugs possession in the District Court before being released on bail.
