Man charged with RIRA boss murder

A MAN was today charged in connection with the murder of RIRA terror boss Alan Ryan.

He was charged with withholding information about Ryan's murder in Dublin last month.

The suspect, who is originally from Dublin's north inner city, was picked up by detectives on Wednesday of last week.

He had been held at Coolock Garda Station since then and questioned under anti-gangland legislation before being briefly released late last night.

However, he was then immediately re-arrested and charged with withholding information about the high profile gun murder. The man, in his mid 30s, was due to appear in court today.

The Herald understands that he had been living in the Donnycarney area in recent times and was previously friendly with some of the gangsters connected to paedophile crimelord Christy Griffin.

However, he was not involved in the north inner city feud which claimed five lives.
