THE family of tragic Jonathan Corrie spent the night sleeping rough in the spot where he died, just metres from the Dail.
Dad-of-two Mr Corrie (43), a drug addict, passed away on Molesworth Street at the start of the month due to hypothermia.
His former partner Catherine McNeill and children Nathan (16) and Natasha (14) were joined by more than 20 people who stood in the sharp December night in quiet reflection at the spot where Jonathan spent his last hours.
Catherine revealed that she hasn't changed her mobile phone number for almost two decades - just in case he tried to reach her in a desperate cry for help.
"I wanted to keep that number over the years. When he was homeless and living in Dublin I wanted him to be able to contact us.
"He didn't have a phone, but he always ensured that phone number was with him. He was hoping to get well some day and to call us so we could all be united and together."
The event was organised by the charity Hope4homeless, and was attended by some of the Love/Hate cast members.
"This is the closest place we feel to being near Jonathan. We're doing it in memory of him," Catherine said.
