Lenovo and sky team up to help crumlin kids

computer technology company Lenovo and broadcaster Sky have teamed up to help entertain the children in Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin.

The partnership will see Lenovo donate 10 of its latest tablets pre-loaded with the Sky Go app to the hospital in time for the Christmas holidays.

Earlier this week, the hospital's chief executive Lorcan Birthistle said around 100 very ill children will have to spend Christmas in Crumlin.

"Having a child with a serious illness puts a lot of strain on families, particularly at this time of year," he said.

"That is why we try particularly hard coming up to Christmas to have some fun in the hospital. It has organised many special events for the children for the month of December, including a visit from Irish celebrities on December 22.

"Children will have a special Christmas Day dinner cooked for them, and Santa always drops by on Christmas Eve to give gifts to them."
