Leinster hopes for sixth victory over Reds

OLD rivals Leinster and Munster will play in front of more than 40,000 fans in the early season Guinness PRO12 derby at the Aviva Stadium tonight.

More than 42,000 tickets had been snapped up with just one day to go as the blue and red armies prepared for the eagerly anticipated 6.30pm clash at the Dublin arena.

And with the Rugby World Cup looming in the future, players from both teams will be seeking to stake their claim to Ireland's green jerseys.

Ireland coach Joe Schmidt (inset) will certainly be a keen observer as he prepares to pare down his list of potential squad members for next month.

Leinster, fresh from triumphing over the Cardiff Blues last week, are confident of victory. They have defeated the Munster men in all of their last five encounters at the Aviva.

The last time Leinster suffered a defeat at the hands of Munster at this venue was in the semi-final of the European Cup in 2006.
