TV star Leigh Arnold is the happiest woman in the world after getting engaged to her beau Steve Davies.
The Herald can reveal how the former Clinic actress (32) has found the perfect love cure with her new fiance, who went down on bended knee after a six-month romance.
"We are over the moon," she said. "Steve asked me to marry him over the weekend. We are both so excited and looking forward to a wonderfully happy future together."
Leigh jetted back from her new base in Manchester to attend the Dublin wedding of her pals Diane Henderson and Doug Ferris at the weekend.
And, shortly afterwards, she got her own piece of good news after her boyfriend Steve (43) popped the question.
Said a pal: "She was absolutely gobsmacked. But she's absolutely thrilled. There's no plans in place yet, it's way too early for that but when they do get married, she wants a really small, intimate affair. It won't be anything too showy. That's just not her."
Leigh and Steve have only been dating for a little over six months but have told everyone that it's the "real deal". They will be jetting off to Ibiza shortly to celebrate the engagement.
The socialite moved to the UK to pursue her acting career last January -- making a new life for herself and leaving the tight-knit Dublin scene behind.
Mancunian Steve is a director for Stanton Fisher and a few months ago Leigh moved up to the city to be closer to him.
She has described him as "the most handsome fella in the world" and has posted pics of the pair of them kissing passionately. The actress brought him back home to Dublin in April to meet her family.
Her last big relationship was with former playboy Marcus Sweeney and before that she dated restaurateur Sasha Evans.
Foxrock native Leigh comes from a well-known Dublin family. Her sister is top model Chloe Arnold, who's dating musician Justin Manville.
