legendary jean toasts birthday

The great and the good descended on Residence members' club on Saturday night for the birthday bash of Jean Crowley of Lillies Bordello fame.

The legendary hostess of the VIP club celebrated turning another year older at the Stephen's Green club as she was joined by all her nearest and dearest for her raucous bash.

Jean, whose nickname is Mother, has welcomed in all the city's celebrities over the years and this time it was her turn to take centre stage.

Attendees included her good pal Caroline Downey alongside Rory Cowan (inset), one of the stars of Mrs Brown's Boys.

He obviously enjoyed the chance to let his hair down too as he took some time out from filming the hit TV series.

"With the beautiful Caroline at Jean Crowley's birthday party last night. What a fantastic night," he said on Twitter. Also there was restaurateur Mai Frisby and one of Bono's best pals, Gavin Friday, as they helped Jean toast her birthday in style.

A Diary mole revealed how Cosmopolitan cocktails were the order of the night and that the bash went on until the "very small" hours.
