LauraLynn gets s14k charity gift

CHILDREN'S hospice LauraLynn has received a surprise with the arrival of €14,000 worth of presents.

The Leopardstown hospice received a technology donation from Lifelites, a UK-based charity, in order to bring specialist fun and educational opportunities for the children who receive care at LauraLynn.

Included in the donation were several touchscreen PCs, an Xbox Kinect, an iPad, and even a waterproof camera.

All youngsters staying at LauraLynn will benefit from this donation. The equipment can be adapted to suit different ages and abilities. It can also be used by siblings and other family members who come to visit.

The equipment has been installed by Lifelites and LauraLynn staff have been trained in how to use it as a part of the donation.

Philomena Dunne, LauraLynn chief executive, added: "We are hugely grateful to the amazing Lifelites team for this generous donation."
