She's been living the American dream since jetting over to the US for the Coachella music festival, but it's back to reality for Laura Whitmore.

After spending the last 10 days Stateside, the former MTV reporter packed her designer bags for the long-haul flight back to reality yesterday.

Tthe Bray native (29) had little time to laze around as she travelled straight to Las Vegas after she finished reporting on Coachella for Hunger TV. After partying with friends (including an Elvis impersonator) in the notorious city, Laura took a road trip down the west coast again to hang out with fellow sci-fi fanatics at the Star Wars Convention in LA.

She finished off her trip by hanging out with pals including The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran, fellow presenter Caroline Flack and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts in Beverly Hills.

After frolicking on the beach in Malibu, and as she bid farewell to Hollywood, the presenter hinted that it won't be long before she's back.

She tweeted, "BYE LA see you soon!!".

Roz on the model hunt

Model Roz Purcell teamed up with her Miss Universe Ireland protege Lisa Madden this weekend to scout for this year's contender for the international modelling competition.

The tables were turned for the pair as they were in the judges' seat in Lisa's home county of Cork judging the regional heat of Miss Universe Ireland.

Cailin Tobin was crowned the winner and will go on to the final later this year.

Top rockers for Whelan's

They're only 19 years old, but Irish indie band Featuring X are proving that age is just a number as they gear up for their biggest gig yet.

After supporting big names such as The Strypes and Raglans, the five teen girls are excited to be taking to the stage in Whelan's on May 28.

"We've played Whelan's before but we've never headlined it so we're very excited about it, it's probably our biggest gig to date," bassist Sarah McLaughlin told the Diary.

"We can't wait."
