ITEMS from puppeteer Eugene Lambert's estate are to be put up for auction next week.

Personal items from the home of Mr Lambert, famous for his role on children's TV show Wanderly Wagon and producer of Bosco, will go under the hammer in Adam's Auctioneers in Blackrock, Co Dublin, on Tuesday.

The actor, entertainer and ventriloquist, who passed away in 2010, left behind a large collection of good quality items in his family home, according to auctioneer Bryan Greene.

"It was a home furnished with nice Edwardian and Victorian furniture of good quality," Mr Greene told the Herald, "though nothing in the collection is particularly rarefied."

All the items are from Mr Lambert's family home in Monkstown, where he lived until his death in February 2010. He shared the home with his wife Mai and his 10 children.

As well as appearing on Wanderly Wagon, Mr Lambert was a producer on RTE show Bosco and formed Lambert Puppet Theatre in 1972.

It runs to this day near Mr Lambert's former home in Monkstown, Co Dublin.
