A LITHUANIAN man will go on trial this Thursday charged with murdering a 26-year-old Latvian man in Co Laois last year.
Deivydas Zigelis (37) of Spa Street, Portarlington was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court today. He pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Alexander Karpov in Portarlington on February 15, 2014.
A jury of seven men and five women was sworn in to hear the trial which is expected to last four to five days.
