Jungle star Laura hung out with zoo monkeys

TV PRESENTER Laura Whitmore warmed up for her stint in the Celebrity Jungle at Dublin Zoo.

The Bray beauty has revealed her childhood memories in the Phoenix Park -- but also more recent days with the wildlife.

The jungle queen says she marked one of the most important days in her life by hanging out with the monkeys.

"The last time I went was after I found out I had won the MTV job, but it hadn't yet been announced," she said.

"I was just about to move to London. My friend Eoghan McDermott, who is also a presenter, brought me to the zoo on a day out to celebrate."

Laura is one of a number of well-known faces who have revealed their wild habits for a new Dublin Zoo magazine.

RTE star Pat Kenny's father was a zookeeper and used to allow him to ride on the elephants on quiet days.

The stories are part of the first Dublin Zoo Annual, sponsored by The Natural Confectionery Company.

Off The Rails frontwoman Sonya Lennon also recalled childhood visits.

"There's a photograph at home somewhere of me having my ponytail eaten by a goat at an outing," she said.
