A LAID-off bakery worker headbutted a window in a garda station after he was arrested for hurling abuse at officers who tried to sort out a taxi fare row, a court heard.
Alan Hanlon (29) had begun drinking heavily after he lost his job at Pat the Baker and had downed a bottle of vodka.
Garda Niall Freaney said he was investigating a complaint that the accused failed to pay a taxi fare when Hanlon became verbally abusive.
He was arrested and taken to Rathmines Garda Station, where he became aggressive and, while being restrained, he headbutted and cracked a window pane.
At Dublin Crown Court, Hanlon, of Mount Tallant Avenue, Terenure, admitted damaging the window, as well as public intoxication and causing a breach of the peace at Rathgar Road on August 13.
The case was adjourned until to December 9.
