Jameson sales up 12pc

JAMESON whiskey sales shot up by 12pc in the past year, according to official results from its owner Pernod Ricard.

The group said there was strong growth in emerging markets, but noted that there are ongoing difficulties in Western Europe, especially in Spain, the UK, Ireland and more recently in Greece.

Pernod Ricard said its revenues for the year ending June 2010 fell by 2pc to €7.081bn.
