A MAN who hurled abuse at gardai when they caught him with a stolen laptop case in a car park has been jailed for six months.
Gerard Brady (36) admitted the charges at Blanchardstown District Court.
Brady, of Woodford Downs, Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace, stealing a bottle of water and handling a stolen laptop case at Fonthill Retail Park, Clondalkin, last September 9.
Judge David McHugh convicted him, but imposed sentence on a separate charge.
The court heard gardai were called after men were seen "checking out cars".
Brady was threatening and abusive. The water and laptop case had been taken from a van.
He had a large number of prior convictions.
