It's holiday fever day

TODAY is traditionally the busiest day for Irish people to investigate booking holidays.

Online searches are expected to hit a peak today as travel sales kick into full force.

Research revealed that 64pc of the public didn't use their full holiday allowance in 2010 and it seems this time around Irish are perhaps more likely to use their full annual leave.

Hotels.com predict that Travel Rush Wednesday will trigger a surge in bookings for summer breaks based on data from previous years and monitoring traffic on the site.
