It's going to be cold, wet and miserable

DON'T put the winter woolies in mothballs just yet -- the wet, cool spell will continue right into next week.

And as children return to school after the Easter break, the country will be swamped by downpours.

Forecasters say today's heavy showers will be repeated tomorrow and temperatures will remain chilly, with highs of just 10 or 11 degrees.

And although the sun will appear on Sunday, there still won't be much heat.

Next week will start slightly warmer, but predictions are for heavy rain on Monday night, lots of showers on Tuesday with the unsettled conditions persisting through the second half of the week.

Elsewhere, Britain has been warned about the possibility of flooding and some parts of the country could have four inches of rain.
