It's crunch time for Lineker in raccoon advert

Gary Lineker has swapped football for a fur-ball after teaming up with a raccoon for his latest snack food TV ad.

The Match of the Day host appears with the critter
in a new campaign for a crisp firm which launched last night, in a wide hunt to find the best new flavour for the snacks.

Lineker said of his new co-star: "I think the raccoon was the biggest diva of my filming partners to date.

"I'm usually the one stealing the crisps in Walkers ads but the raccoon gave me a run for my money."

Flavours

In the advert, Lineker is accompanied by his four-legged pal as he travels around to see whether members of the public can tell the difference between the real dishes and six new flavours - ranch raccoon, cheesy beans on toast, hot dog with tomato ketchup, pulled pork in a sticky BBQ sauce, sizzling steak fajita and chip shop chicken curry.

Customers are also being encouraged to vote for their favourite in the Do Us A Flavour campaign.

Lineker said: "I'm curious to see which is the nation's favourite as they are so different - from real British comfort food to American favourites."

Walkers' fans came up with the new range with the final six chosen by a panel including chef Marco Pierre White and Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams.

The eventual winning flavour will earn its creator a €1,250m prize .
