TAOISEACH Enda Kenny came face-to-face with a unique science project at the launch of the Science Gallery's 2014 programme.
The lifelike model face was made from the DNA of discarded cigarette butts and chewing gum collected around the streets of Dublin city centre.
The exhibition aims to unite science and art in visually arresting installation pieces.
The model, entitled Stranger Visions, is the work of information artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg.
Heather creates lifelike masks of people using collected DNA and a computer system that can decode gender, eye colour and various facial traits.
