Irishman (39) found dead in New Zealand
A 39-year-old Irishman has been found dead in New Zealand
The body of Galway man Finbarr Clabby was found at Wellington Harbour at 10.46am yesterday local time.
Police say Mr Clabby was last seen about 1am on Sunday morning local time.
"We believe Finbarr had gone to the Wellington Westpac stadium to watch the rugby final. He was last seen at one of the bars on the waterfront at about 1am."
"His body was seen floating in the harbour at 10.46am on Sunday morning New Zealand time."
"His body was recovered and taken to the mortuary where initial examination was done."
No foul play is suspected, but police say a post mortem will be carried out to confirm the cause of death.
Mr Clabby's family have been informed, New Zealand police say, and funeral arrangements are being made.
