Irish stent approved

PHARMACEUTICAL group Boston Scientific revealed that its new heart stent, which was manufactured in Ireland, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration seven months early.

The news prompted shares in the company to jump by nearly 3pc to $5.46. The Administration approved its Promus Element Plus drug-eluting heart stent which was created in Ireland where the company employs 2,500 workers.
