Irish nurse Judy Fitzgerald is to rub shoulders with the world’s top supermodels this weekend, when she takes to the catwalk during New York Fashion Week.
The prestigious annual event, which takes place in Manhattan, will see the fashion world’s who’s who strike a pose, pout, air kiss, and network with each other.
Judy, who works as a nurse in her native Limerick, said it was a “dream come true” to be invited by organiser Andres Aqunio.
The invite came after Judy (right) wowed judges to win Miss Bikini Ireland 2015 last November, and then go on to compete in the world’s biggest bikini contest, Swimsuit USA International, in Cancun, Mexico.
“I’m excited. The family are all delighted. They can’t wait and neither can I,” the 24-year old said.
“I’m spending Valentine’s in New York. You’d never know, I might meet a celebrity.”
Flying to the Big Apple today, Judy will stay in the five-star Crown Plaza in Times Square, along with a host of A-List celebrities and models.
“I’ll receive my fittings on Saturday and I’m in the finale on the Sunday. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a dream come true. Hopefully I’ll make a lot more work connections and meet loads of interesting people.”
“Everyone in it is a supermodel. E News are going to be at it so hopefully it’ll raise my profile.”
