THE domestic business sector has recorded a significant jump in confidence, employers representative group IBEC has said.
The Business Sentiment Survey for the second quarter of 2013 found that the gap in confidence between exporting and non-exporting companies has narrowed.
Although the domestic economy has been disappointing in the first half of the year, the next six months should see an improvement, IBEC said.
Non-exporting companies recorded a three-point climb in confidence to 17 points. The survey also identified that fewer companies in the domestic market now plan to reduce staff, while 27pc of exporters plan to take on new staff in the next three months.
