Irish firm in Sony deal

IRISH-BASED start-up Open Emotion Studios has inked a lucrative deal to develop software for Sony's PlayStation Vita portable gaming device.

The company, which currently employs six full-time game developers along with eight part-time staff, applied to Sony Computer Entertainment in July 2010 to develop a series of mini games for PlayStation's PSP which went on to sell more than 100,000 copies globally.

On the back of this success, the firm was contracted by Sony Computer Entertainment to develop new software titles for PS Vita.

Open Emotion Studios expects to add employees to its expanding team to aid the development of two full-game titles.
