Ireland uncompetitive

Deutsche Bank has listed Ireland as the most uncompetitive country in the Eurozone during 10 years approaching 2009.

The group said that Italy, Portugal and Spain also lack competitiveness and said there are still differences between the price competitiveness of the member countries.

The readings are particularly good for Germany, Austria and France.

The Bank said that in the long term the Commission and the Council should ensure that negative developments are rectified early via improved monitoring and standards.
