Ireland fifth for female power

Ireland has ranked fifth in the world in a landmark global study to measure "female economic power", scoring ahead of both the UK and US, according to research by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.

The research, carried out between 2004 and 2013, looked at staff in 1,000 companies across 41 countries and was commissioned by the UK company Newton Asset Management and US firm BNY Mellon.

Ireland was ranked fifth while Australia came first.
